Happy Friday!  Is it just me, or did this week feel a million years long?  But we made it to Friday and next week is the last SBS!

THANK YOU for all of your hard work this semester.  Each and every one of you went above and beyond to support your PTs and they were all so lucky to have you.

Final Portfolio Submission:
PTs are still having a difficult time uploading their portfolios to Blackboard.  As long as they informed you before the deadline, they will not be penalized for this.  They can temporarily share the portfolio via a Google Drive folder to ease their anxiety and so you can start looking through them, but ultimately they need to work with a peer or you to figure out Blackboard.

  • Portfolios must be graded by May 30th. Please let me know as soon as possible if you will need grading help from our support staff.

Keep the questions coming!  And my apologies again for sending mixed messages!

Filming at SBS:
On Wednesday, our last SBS, the program is filming some promotional material, including interviews with LIs.  Please let me know if any of your PTs are a good fit to be interviewed (willing and enthusiastic about the program!).

Per Session:
May per session is due May 28th (right after Memorial Day).
  • Remember that you retain your 4 hours from PTC.
  • File TR for May SBS: 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, and 22.
  • File TN for May 14th virtual session (4:30-6:30).
  • Access blank per session forms and sign in sheets here.
  • If you haven't received payment for a particular month or uploaded forms late, please be sure to let me know, so we can get you paid!
LI Survey
We currently have a 64% response rate for our Lead Instructor end-of-training survey, but we are striving for 100%! Thanks so much to those who have completed it already.  For those who haven’t done so yet, please submit the feedback survey response by end of day today.

Upcoming SBS:
May 22nd - Reflecting on Personal Growth
  • If you have not already, inform your PTs that they must bring student artifacts to SBS.  The bulk of the session is an artifact analysis protocol.
  • The work being done in this session is highly valuable and mirrors practices they will continue to engage in as full time teachers.  Although they will all likely feel exhausted, please encourage them to be fully present in the session and authentically participate.

LI News Blast #1: Logistics and Reminders

Hello LIs!!  Congratulations on your first week of facilitating Skill Building Sessions for your PTS!  I'm sure they had many questions for you, and you for us!  Please don't hesitate to reach out to us for support. Please also accept my deepest apologies for not being with you the first two days of SBS!  I've been very ill and was so disappointed to miss you all on Wednesday and Thursday! Going forward, this blog will be your first stop shop for questions and reminders.  You'll be able to search by "label" to find the specific information you're looking for.  For example, this blog post contains information about our substitute policy, so searching for the key term "sub" or "substitute" will pull up this post for quick access in the future. Additionally, each Friday post will contain tips for facilitating the following week's SBS.  Read on for important updates and information! LI Absence and Substitute Policy Steps
Happy Friday!  9 WAKE-UPS UNTIL SPRING BREAK! Short and sweet this week! Summer Positions You all should have received an email inquiring about your availability and interest in working this summer.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  You are also welcome to indicate in the reflection if you are only interested in subbing. Portfolios A few PTs have asked if the accumulation of points they receive on their assignments impacts whether or not they "pass" the program.  The answer is no.  Their assignments go into their Final Teaching Portfolio.  If they received a low score on an assignment, they can and should revise it before adding it to and submitting their Portfolio.  The overall score on their Portfolio  does  impact their ability to "pass" and teach in the Fall. PT Survey #2 Data Be on the lookout for your individual data with next steps!  We are still disaggregating data by LI.  You will have it before our meeting on April 16
