Happy Friday!  Is it just me, or did this week feel a million years long?  But we made it to Friday and next week is the last SBS! THANK YOU for all of your hard work this semester.  Each and every one of you went above and beyond to support your PTs and they were all so lucky to have you. Final Portfolio Submission: PTs are still having a difficult time uploading their portfolios to Blackboard.  As long as they informed you before the deadline, they will not be penalized for this.  They can temporarily share the portfolio via a Google Drive folder to ease their anxiety and so you can start looking through them, but ultimately they need to work with a peer or you to figure out Blackboard. Portfolios must be graded by May 30th. Please let me know as soon as possible if you will need grading help from our support staff. Keep the questions coming!  And my apologies again for sending mixed messages! Filming at SBS: On Wednesday, our last SBS, the program is filming some

Hello PTs!  I hope everyone had a delightful spring break and a strong first week back!  We received a lot of excellent and helpful feedback on the sessions this week that will help us plan for the summer.  Please continue to send your modifications, concerns, ideas, best practices, etc!! Virtual SBS: As discussed in our April 16th meeting, May 9th will be a Virtual SBS via Google Hangouts or Free Conference Call. The session for May 9th is now  Family and Community Engagement The session for May 8th is now  Unit Plan Feedback and Reflecting on Professional Growth Any PTs who cannot attend the virtual session at the date and time you select should make up the session by Tuesday, May 14 so they are caught up for the next session the following day. If they do not attend the virtual session or make it up as instructed by you, it will count as an absence. Whichever platform you choose, plan to practice ahead of time to ensure you are comfortable with the logistics and can
We made it!  Regents and stating test loom in the near future, but for now I hope everyone has the chance to relax, detach from work, and enjoy the time off!! Big thanks to everyone for their participation in Tuesday's meeting!  Read on for information about RCS, Per Session, important dates, and more. RCS: Based on your input at Tuesday's meeting and the Gateway 2 data, we decided on the following topics for the RCS scheduled for April 26th: 1c (Setting Instructional Outcomes) and 1e (Designing Coherent Instruction)  3c (Engaging Students in Learning) 3d (Using Assessment in Instruction) Domain 1 practice can have a trickle down effect on the other domains and 3c has a higher benchmark for Gateway 3 than 3b (which we also discussed as a topic) and engagement is generally higher leverage. Important Dates: May 7th:  LI Meeting (Virtual) 4:30-6:30 May 9th:  Virtual SBS via Google Hangouts or Free Conference Call The topic is  Family and Community
Happy Friday, LIs!  FOUR MORE WAKE UPS TO SPRING BREAK!! As I visit Life Sciences, engage in discussions with you and PTs, review emails, check Exit Tickets, etc., I continue to be so impressed with how all of you go above and beyond for your PTs, supporting them both with their progress in the program and giving emotional support.   Exit Tickets Exit Ticket submissions continue to be extremely low, likely in part because PTs are feeling overwhelmed; however, we take Exit Tickets very seriously.  I check them weekly and follow up with the program about PT responses as needed so we can improve as a program.  The o verall submission rate on 4/10 was 60%. Below is a breakdown  of submission rates  by SBS group: CB Bilingual: 59% ELA: 37% ENL : 72% Math (Lehman): 31% Math (SJU): 93% Science: 77% Social Studies: 68% Special Education 1-6 (Brooklyn College): 50% Special Education 1-6 (SJU): 60% Special Education 7-12 (Hunter): 79% Special Education 7-12 (SJU): 6
Happy Friday!  9 WAKE-UPS UNTIL SPRING BREAK! Short and sweet this week! Summer Positions You all should have received an email inquiring about your availability and interest in working this summer.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  You are also welcome to indicate in the reflection if you are only interested in subbing. Portfolios A few PTs have asked if the accumulation of points they receive on their assignments impacts whether or not they "pass" the program.  The answer is no.  Their assignments go into their Final Teaching Portfolio.  If they received a low score on an assignment, they can and should revise it before adding it to and submitting their Portfolio.  The overall score on their Portfolio  does  impact their ability to "pass" and teach in the Fall. PT Survey #2 Data Be on the lookout for your individual data with next steps!  We are still disaggregating data by LI.  You will have it before our meeting on April 16
Hello and happy Friday!  A big thanks to everyone who stepped up this week to support our LIs, and their PTs, when it was needed!  Which was all of you! The enrollment team popped by on Wednesday to see the PTs and SBS in action -- they loved what they saw!  Keep up the amazing work! PT Survey #2 Data We are currently reviewing the PT data from Survey #2, which gives us excellent feedback not only on SBS but on the program as a whole.  Next week, I will send you your individual data with next steps. Exit Tickets Exit Ticket submission has plummeted to almost half of PTs not completing them!  Review Exit Tickets for the week by Friday, communicate to PTs who are consistently not completing them, and log FYIs.  Escalate to Level 2 FYIs if they continue not to submit. Please let me know if I can support you with this! Important Dates Thursday, March 28th: Formative Assessment Data Reflection was due yesterday.  Unless you granted an extension, consider it officiall
