Happy Friday, LIs!  It was great seeing you all at Tuesday's training!  If you were unable to attend, stay tuned for make up work!

This sums up how I'm feeling about Angela's departure on March 8th:  via GIPHY

We'll soldier on, but our team will always been one player short!

Looking Ahead:

  • Please have on your calendars that March Per Session will be due on Thursday, March 21st.  You will include on that sheet your hours for the last week of March, despite the early submission.
  • PT Exit Ticket Analysis is due Wednesday, March 13th. Scoring must be completed by Wednesday, March 27th for the assignments turned in on time.  If you need support grading, reach out ASAP rather than waiting until the last minute!

Virtual Sessions:

  • The first D75 occurred on Thursday, Feb, 28th.  I will be reaching out to our D75 Lead Instructors to get feedback and "lessons learned" that we can implement in our upcoming Virtual Sessions:
    • D75: 3.07
    • Non-D75: 3.06 and 3.13

Exit Tickets: Our Exit Ticket completion was down to 55% on Wednesday.  Please check your Exit Tickets regularly the day after each session and note anyone who consistently does not complete theirs.  If you allow PTs to complete Exit Tickets at home and they are not doing so, it may be necessary to change your procedure.  I'll be in touch with you individually if I notice a lack of submissions from your group, so we can brainstorm solutions!

Upcoming SBS:

3.06 (D75) - Using Data to Drive Instruction and Diagnosing Student Needs Slides
  • Pay close attention to PT participation and the knowledge and skills they bring to class for this session.  Monitoring PT success with the Virtual Session is imperative, as we a) can learn critical next steps and b) need to hold our PTs accountable for these sessions.
    • I will be reaching out to get feedback from you on the Virtual Sessions!
  • As needed, please supplement (but do not replace) the Examining Student Work protocol with other data analysis protocols that you have found useful to give PTs more for their teacher-tool-belts.
3.06 (Non-D75)

  • Your first Virtual Session!  Please utilize your 2/26 training to support you and reach out if you have any questions!
3.07 (D75)
  • Please use "lessons learned" from your first Virtual Session to support you and your PTs!
3.07 (Non-D75) - Data-Driven Instruction

  • As noted above for D75, pay close attention to PT participation and the knowledge and skills they bring to class for this session.
  • You may also bring your own student work that you have analyzed or to allow PTs to analyze, if it more closely aligns with their content area, for the model.

LI News Blast #1: Logistics and Reminders

Hello LIs!!  Congratulations on your first week of facilitating Skill Building Sessions for your PTS!  I'm sure they had many questions for you, and you for us!  Please don't hesitate to reach out to us for support. Please also accept my deepest apologies for not being with you the first two days of SBS!  I've been very ill and was so disappointed to miss you all on Wednesday and Thursday! Going forward, this blog will be your first stop shop for questions and reminders.  You'll be able to search by "label" to find the specific information you're looking for.  For example, this blog post contains information about our substitute policy, so searching for the key term "sub" or "substitute" will pull up this post for quick access in the future. Additionally, each Friday post will contain tips for facilitating the following week's SBS.  Read on for important updates and information! LI Absence and Substitute Policy Steps
Happy Friday!  9 WAKE-UPS UNTIL SPRING BREAK! Short and sweet this week! Summer Positions You all should have received an email inquiring about your availability and interest in working this summer.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  You are also welcome to indicate in the reflection if you are only interested in subbing. Portfolios A few PTs have asked if the accumulation of points they receive on their assignments impacts whether or not they "pass" the program.  The answer is no.  Their assignments go into their Final Teaching Portfolio.  If they received a low score on an assignment, they can and should revise it before adding it to and submitting their Portfolio.  The overall score on their Portfolio  does  impact their ability to "pass" and teach in the Fall. PT Survey #2 Data Be on the lookout for your individual data with next steps!  We are still disaggregating data by LI.  You will have it before our meeting on April 16
